The medicine cat's den is a large clearing with nests ready for sick cats, and two large rocks forming a crevice where the medicine cat sleeps and where herbs are stored. It usually has a puddle of water in the center, so sick cats do not have to venture out of camp. The den is abundant in ferns and moss, but is not the most well-protected of the camp. Cats in the past have used this place to secretly exit camp. The sand from well, everywhere, have worn down the rocks, to when it rains Earrios are quick to toss sand on the rocks so a muddy shell is formed.
